Flying wings and multicopters above Berlin and Stuttgart
In January and February, 3DO (module B) ran the first intensive observation campain winter in the partner cities Berlin, Hamburg and Stuttgart.The measurement flights with unmanned aerial vehicles in Berlin and Stuttgart were particularly exciting. Project partners of the University of Augsburg and Leibniz Universität Hannover sent up their flying wings and multicopters to measure air temperature, humidity and wind up to 250 m height. MOSAIK introduced PALM to project partners
MOSAIK (module A) hosted a PALM seminar in October 2016 to introduce the Parallelized Large-Eddy Simulation Model for Atmospheric and Oceanic Flows (PALM) to project partners of all modules. PALM will be the basis for the new urban climate model, which MOSAIK aims to develop within the BMBF research programme.
Dialog workshops in partner cities
KliMoPrax and UseUClim (module C) organised dialog workshops in different partner cities. Communal practitioning partners could discuss their demands for applications of the new urban climate model with project partners. Module C aims to ensure practicability and user serviceability of the new urban climate model to foster climate proof urban development.
